Are you a detail-oriented financial professional with a passion for making a positive impact? We' re seeking a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our dynamic nonprofit team. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely management of our financial transactions while contributing to our organization' s mission to create lasting change in our community through conservation, education, and advocacy. Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable, expense tracking, and reconciliations.
Prepare and process financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies.
Assist in the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to support organizational decision-making.
Participate in monthly and yearly financial closing procedures, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.
Collaborate with internal teams to provide financial insights, answer inquiries, and support cross-functional initiatives.
Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records, both electronically and in hard copy.
Assist in the preparation for audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor' s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a nonprofit or similar setting.
Strong understanding of accounting principles, regulations, and best practices.
Understanding of accounting as it relates to events, including vendor management and communication.
Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and analysis.
Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
Strong organizational and time-management abilities to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Commitment to organization' s mission and values.
Must be able to clear a thorough drug screening and criminal background check, provide a minimum of two supervisory references and proper documentation to verify eligibility to work in the USA.
