Job Description

Staff Accountant needed for an education-industry client in Roseville, ASAP. You would be providing audit support, assist in resolvi ng accounting issues related to Procurement, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Revenue tracking. You will also perform Month/Year-End closing tasks, complex Analytics, and assist with Financial reporting.

Duties
Liaise with auditors for Year End close. Prepare documents for interim/annual external audits.
Record cash receipts/disbursements, inter-fund transfers, and monthly bank reconciliations to account for cash balances.
Reconcile AP/AR, petty cash, and corporate credit cards.
Record journal entries for monthly accrued expenses, monthly allocation of cost, quarterly amortization of prepaid expenses, and year-end deferred revenue.
Prepare journal entries for payroll, create AP and apply payments to related liability accounts, payroll backup.
Assist with financial aspects of resource reporting; track revenues from different government agencies.
Coordinate with administrators on spending plans for various resources and track related expenses.
Generate PO' s from purchase requests, review/approve invoice account codes, and resolve billing discrepancies

Knowledge
Strong communication skills, high level of critical thinking, analysis, reflection & cooperative team building
Knowledge of (GAAP), advanced financial concepts, techniques/regulations, accounting/bookkeeping practices.
Knowledge of supply requisition process, three-way matching concept, invoice coding, and check run process.
Proficient MS Office; Word, Excel & Outlook.
Monitor, audit, reconcile, balance, research and analyze complex financial data and transactions.
Ability to research, analyze data, and think critically to solve complex business problems.
Extremely well organized, effectively manage time, and prioritize tasks to meet internal/external deadlines.
Attention to detail w/high level of accuracy and adapt to changing work priorities.

Education, Experience & Certification
Bachelo r s degree in accounting preferred
Advanced Excel
Audit experience preferred
Current TB, CPR & First Aid Certification

Must be able to clear a thorough Dept of Justice Live Scan check, provide a minimum of two supervisory references and proper documentation to verify eligibility to work in the USA.
