Senior Truss Designer needed in the Sacramento area for the design and creation of structural truss systems used in a variety of types of construction projects. The role of a Senior Truss Designer involves advanced design, analysis, and coordination tasks, often working closely with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders. This person will ensure truss systems align with architectural visions and meet stringent engineering and safety standards. This is a Full-Time, Direct Hire position and our client will entertain qualified candidates immediately.
Responsibilities:
Advanced Truss Design: Utilize specialized software to design and create complex truss systems that meet structural and architectural requirements. This includes analyzing loads, stresses, and other factors to ensure truss stability and safety.
Blueprint Interpretation: Review architectural and engineering blueprints to understand project specifications and integrate truss designs seamlessly into the overall building design.
Collaboration: Work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and project managers to ensure truss designs align with the project' s overall goals and requirements.
Code Compliance: Ensure that truss designs adhere to local building codes, regulations, and industry standards to guarantee the structural integrity and safety of the building.
Material Selection: Select appropriate materials for truss construction, considering factors such as load-bearing capacity, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
Problem Solving: Address design challenges and modifications, finding innovative solutions to ensure truss systems function effectively within the constraints of the project.
Quality Control: Review and validate truss designs to minimize errors and inconsistencies, ensuring accuracy and quality in the final product.
Technical Documentation: Create detailed design drawings, specifications, and documentation to communicate truss designs to fabrication teams, construction crews, and other stakeholders.
Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior truss designers, sharing knowledge and best practices to develop their skills.
Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion of truss designs and coordination with project timelines.
Qualifications:
Experience: Typically requires several years of experience in truss design, with a solid foundation in designing standard and complex truss systems.
Software Proficiency: Proficient in using specialized truss design software, such as AutoCAD, MiTek, Alpine, or similar tools.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of structural engineering principles, building codes, and construction practices.
Blueprint Reading: Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings accurately.
Problem-Solving Skills: Capable of identifying and resolving design challenges effectively.
Communication: Excellent communication skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous in ensuring accuracy and precision in truss design documentation.
Project Management: Experience in managing design projects from inception to completion.
Leadership: Senior roles may require leadership skills to guide junior designers and oversee project teams.
Must be able to clear a thorough drug screening and criminal background check, provide a minimum of two supervisory references and proper documentation to verify eligibility to work in the USA.
