We are currently seeking a Senior Network Operations Engineer for a vital role in our organization. This exempt position entails the planning, installation, advanced configuration, administration, and management of various network and communication systems and assets, including cyber security, application servers, network storage systems, switches, routers, and firewalls. The Senior Network Operations Engineer will collaborate with different departments and management to assess needs, manage installation and configuration projects, oversee the effectiveness of current resources, and ensure the integrity of our network infrastructure. This position also involves supervising lower-level staff and contractors, liaising with software vendors and manufacturers, developing technical documentation, and leading technology projects. This is a Contracted position for approximately 3 months or longer. Responsibilities:
Perform advanced technology analysis, configuration, and systems management related to server and storage systems, cyber security, routers, switches, and firewalls. This includes operating, repairing, and upgrading systems, administering network security, monitoring virtual and physical servers, and configuring and monitoring cyber security systems for intrusion prevention, detection, and mitigation. Analyze and troubleshoot system issues and provide technical support in the design, construction, installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of complex computing, network, and cyber security equipment and software. (45%)
Act as a project lead and technical expert for network, security, and communication-related procurements, installations, and construction projects. Prepare proposal and bid documents for the purchase of communication and security equipment or services, coordinate and supervise contracted employees and project staff, and maintain effective liaison with suppliers, contractors, and departments. (35%)
Manage information and administrative tasks by serving as a liaison for internal and external information requests, preparing and presenting progress and status reports, staying current with industry technology advancements, and supervising lower-level staff, consultants, temporary employees, and contractors. (20%)
Requirements:
Advanced knowledge and experience in network operations, including cyber security, server and storage systems, routers, switches, and firewalls.
Proficiency in analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving complex system problems.
Project management skills, including the ability to lead technology projects and coordinate contracted employees.
Effective communication and liaison abilities with internal and external stakeholders.
Strong technical documentation skills.
Supervisory experience.
Preferences:
Relevant certifications or additional qualifications in network operations and cyber security.
Familiarity with industry advancements in technology.
Experience in preparing proposal and bid documents for equipment or services procurement.
Advanced technical skills in system administration and configuration.
Must be able to clear a thorough drug screening and criminal background check, provide a minimum of two supervisory references and proper documentation to verify eligibility to work in the USA.
