SENIOR ACCOUNTANT needed in the West Sacramento area for a DIRECT HIRE position to serve a critical role in a high volume Accounting Department. Will be integral for month-end close and ensuring the financial integrity of all general ledger accounts. Will be developing process efficiencies to meet reporting deadlines, and identifying areas of opportunity and risk associated with current and future accounting policies.

Responsibilities

• Uphold professionalism standards and confidentiality information.

• Structure billing and overhead rates compliant with reporting standards.

• Ensure compliance with existing terms, conditions, and record-keeping requirements for Grant reporting and Joint Venture Reporting.

• Accountable for all cash transactions; maintain accurate records and provide timely, accurate reporting as required.

• Adhere to a month-end close checklist, while continually identifying areas of improvement, better data sources, and strategies for a timely close.

• Ensure all accounting transactions and methodologies are performed in accordance with GAAP.

• Prepare clear and concise monthly reconciliations for all assigned balance sheet accounts with accompanying supporting documentation.

• Review monthly credit card reconciliations and charges for proper coding and expense allocation.

• Other duties as assigned.

Experience and Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting required; CPA or MBA preferred.

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience is required.

• Construction Industry experience preferred.

• Internal / External Financial or Compliance Audit experience preferred.

• Deep knowledge of Cost Accounting principles: Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR); and GAAP

Salary $85k - $100k

Must be able to clear a thorough drug screening and criminal background check, provide a minimum of two supervisory references and proper documentation to verify eligibility to work in the USA.
