Job Description

RECRUITER is needed for a large non-profit organization in Sacramento. This Recruiter will assist the HR department with development, implementation, tracking, regulatory compliance, and evaluation of effectiveness for specific HR needs. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity for the right person who has the skills below and assimilates well onto a team that is cohesive, supportive and passionate of company goals and mission.



  • Proven work experience as a Recruiter

  • Solid ability to conduct different types of interviews; phone interviews, video interviews, in person interviews, group interviews; including role plays

  • Hands on experience with various selection processes; screening, interviewing, reference checks, background checks, etc.

  • May develop recruitment strategies to achieve required staffing levels, including identifying and implementing new and creative recruitment opportunities (i.e., career fairs, college/university connections, community events, etc.)

  • In Coordination with Hiring Managers and Coordinators: Provide recruitment assistance and direction in selection, and onboarding of interns for different programs

  • Ability to work flexible schedules includes some evenings and weekends

  • Familiarity with legal requirements in hiring best practices

  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality

  • Verbal and written ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, community partners, consumers, and all levels of management

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects and assignments effectively

  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment within program/department and agency wide

  • Ability to work in a mobile, fast paced environment

  • Ability to use a laptop computer



  • Implement all aspects of recruitment including but not limited to the following:

  • Advertising, screening, appropriate routing of candidates, and determination of employment status

  • Screens and refers qualified applicants to hiring manager for interviewing

  • Provide initial screening to obtain work history, education, training, job skills and salary requirements

  • Conducts references and background checks

  • Maintain positive relationships with staff to enable communication regarding openings, promotions, and other identified employee issues

  • Represent agency at community events for recruitment and public relations purposes

  • Present oneself to all levels of agency and community in a professional manner

  • Accurately perform data entry, applicant tracking, filing, reporting and other HR-related tasks in a timely manner

  • Work collaboratively as part of the HR team


Education & Experience

  • Education: a high school diploma or an Associate’s degree in Human Resources or another relevant field

  • Knowledge of: HRIS databases and/or ATS (applicant tracking/management systems)

  • Years of experience: High school diploma/minimum three years in a recruitment role, Associate’s degree/ minimum two years in a recruitment role.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in human resources or another relevant field is preferred.

  • Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite



  • Valid California driver’s license, proof of automobile insurance, can maintain a driving record acceptable to the agency’s insurance carrier, if applicable to position

  • Must provide and operate a registered, properly insured automobile, if applicable to position

  • Fulfillment of TB test, background check clearance, and any other mandatory State/Federal requirements


Pay: $27 hourly


Must be able to clear a thorough drug screening and criminal background check, provide a minimum of two supervisory references and proper documentation to verify eligibility to work in the USA.
