Payroll Manager needed for a large non-profit in the Sacramento area. Must be able to oversee payroll and ideally, accounts payable to ensure accurate processing and financial reporting. May develop and maintain accounting principles and supervise staff of up to five. Must be able to manage tight deadlines for monthly and yearly financials, including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, and budget support. This is a temp to hire position for the right person who can execute on all levels.

Skills & Requirements:

• Supervise Payroll department operations. Will also oversee accounts payable.

• Maintain financial controls and procedures and provide to management, as needed.

• Budget creation, management and audits.

• Evaluate department compliance and system efficiencies and address deficiencies with corrective plans.

• Manage day-to-day operations and provide feedback to staff; Plan orientation, development, and ongoing training.

• Conduct timely and constructive performance evaluations.

• Ensure compliance with GAAP accounting standards.

• Collaborate with Controller on financial responsibilities.

Qualifications:

• If High School Diploma, minimum of 12 years’ accounting or finance experience and seven years of managerial experience.

• If Associates Degree in Accounting, Economics, or Finance, minimum seven years of managerial experience.

• If Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, or Finance, minimum five years of managerial experience.

• If Master’s degree in Accounting, Economics, or Finance, minimum three years of managerial experience.

• Minimum three years of Payroll & Accounts Payable experience.

• Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Excellent written and verbal communication.

• Serve as a role model for professional conduct.

Pay Range $36 to $40 

Must be able to clear a thorough drug screening and criminal background check, provide a minimum of two supervisory references and proper documentation to verify eligibility to work in the USA.
