PARALEGAL - PERSONAL INJURY (DIRECT HIRE)

Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Assists attorneys in managing caseload by organizing information, maintaining files, and tracking documents and important deadlines
- Interviews new clients to attain relevant case information regarding their personal injury claim and gather corresponding documentation including insurance policies, police reports, and medical records
- Researches relevant issues, regulations, statutes, and prior case law specific to the support of the attorney s strategies and arguments
- Prepares legal documents including: motions, pleadings, discovery requests, subpoenas, and settlement agreements
- Regularly corresponds with clients, court personnel, witnesses, experts, opposing counsel
- Schedules depositions, hearings, meetings, and other legal proceedings
- Investigates case facts by gathering and examining evidence and preparing exhibits for trial
- Assists attorneys in trial preparation by preparing trial binders, organizing witness and exhibit lists, and collecting other related materials
- Communicates updated information to clients regarding case progress and responding to inquiries with attorney guidance
- As directed by the attorney, may assist in settlement negotiations and mediation sessions
- Accurately tracks and documents records of billable hours, expenses, and other case information
- Ensures complete adherence to confidentiality requirements, legal ethics rules, and firm policies
Requirements:
- Associate' s degree or bachelor' s degree in paralegal studies or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
- Previous experience as a personal injury paralegal or in a related legal field is preferred
- Knowledge of personal injury laws, civil litigation procedures, and legal research methods
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in using legal software and case management systems
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Familiarity with local and state court rules and procedures
Must be able to clear a thorough drug screening and criminal background check, provide a minimum of two supervisory references and proper documentation to verify eligibility to work in the USA.
