Marketing Assistant role for a well-established non-profit located in Sacramento. This person will play a key support role in advancing the organization's Mission, Vision, and Public Policy Agenda. This individual will assist with membership engagement, program management, and online community building to ensure seamless marketing and communication efforts across the organization's platforms. The role focuses on supporting both internal and external communications while maintaining a strong online presence.
PAY= $28 hourly
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Membership Engagement & Support:
- Assist in the development and execution of membership engagement strategies that connect organization's programs, advocacy efforts, and nursing practice.
- Support membership communications by drafting, editing, and designing content for newsletters, reports, digital campaigns, and publications.
- Maintain and enhance member engagement by responding to inquiries and fostering community interaction on social media and other platforms.
- Help review membership data and facilitate communications to ensure members stay informed about key events, opportunities, and initiatives.
Program Management Support:
- Provide logistical and administrative support to programs, projects, events, and campaigns, including planning, coordination, and execution.
- Assist in the coordination of online advocacy and legislative initiatives by leveraging digital tools and platforms to engage members and partners.
- Support relationships with members, volunteers, and coalition partners to advance advocacy and public policy objectives.
Online Community Building:
- Collaborate with staff and program leads to build and maintain organization's online community through consistent and engaging social media, website, and digital content updates.
- Monitor the organization's presence on platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube, ensuring that content reflects the organization's values and priorities.
- Assist in managing online conversations by posting comments, responding to inquiries, and coordinating member engagement activities as needed.
- Help develop and implement online advocacy campaigns, using analytics and feedback to optimize efforts and increase member participation.
Communications & Digital Content Creation:
- Support internal and external communications by drafting emails, announcements, and other forms of messaging for a variety of platforms.
- Assist with the preparation, design, and distribution of weekly, monthly, and quarterly communications, including newsletters, reports, and event materials.
- Help plan, create, and schedule social media posts and website updates to maintain a strong digital presence.
- Provide assistance in responding to media inquiries and creating press materials as needed.
Cross Functional Team Support:
- Collaborate closely with the CEO and other staff to support the organization's overall strategic goals.
- Contribute to event coordination, including logistics, speaker management, and communications with media partners.
- Participate in internal team projects and assist with tasks across departments to ensure successful execution of key initiatives.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in marketing, communications, or a similar role.
- Proficiency with digital platforms, including email marketing tools, social media marketing tools, and CRM systems.
- Working knowledge of ChatGPT, Claude.ai or other AI-powered marketing tools, marketing channels including event, email, social, and content marketing, and web analytics tools such as Google Analytics.
- Strong communication skills with a focus on clarity and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, showing flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with public relations and project coordination (preferred).

Must be able to clear a thorough drug screening and criminal background check, provide a minimum of two supervisory references and proper documentation to verify eligibility to work in the USA.
