Job Description

Lab Manager needed in Woodland area for fast growing, established industrial food processing company. Great opportunity for someone who wants to be a part of a locally owned company that is well known nationally and internationally. In this position, the right candidate will manage the product testing laboratory during the day shift. This is a full-time, direct hire opportunity with great benefits and 401K matching after 6 months.

Responsibilities:

Supervise lab chemists and technicians.
Hire chemists and technicians as needed.
Release product in ERP system as required.
Manage lab budget and request supplies as needed.
Maintain all lab instrumentation internally or through the use of contract services.
Create all test methods and perform validation as needed.
Complete all testing for lab staff and ensure testing proficiency among the staff.
Perform investigations for all out of specification tests.
Maintain lab in compliance with Good Laboratory Practices.
Assist operations in investigation and testing of non-conformities.
Provide troubleshooting for upset plant conditions.

Preferences:

Oilseed experience preferred
PCQI Training
Bachelors of Science in Chemistry

Requirements:

Bachelors of Science, Analytical Chemistry preferred.
5+ years in an analytical lab with direct oversight of instrumentation like GC, HPLC, GCMS, etc.
1+ years of supervisory experience.
Understanding and practice of following food regulations and food safety requirements.
Proficiency with ERP systems, word processing and report writing.
Strong communication skills, including ability to provide presentations and trainings.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to analyze data and make determinations.
Ability to organize and implement new systems.
PCQI / HACCP Certified preferred.

Must be able to clear a thorough drug screening and criminal background check, provide a minimum of two supervisory references and proper documentation to verify eligibility to work in the USA.
