Assistant Shop Supervisor needed in the Sacramento area for a renowned industry leader in steel fabrication. This motivated and experienced supervisor will support the team’s efficiency and quality of production to contribute to the quality of operations continued success of our fabrication projects for diverse steel projects across Northern and Central California. This is a full-time, DIRECT HIRE position working with a team with longevity, expertise, a strong sense of teamwork, and respected reputation in the industry.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting the Shop Supervisor in overseeing daily production activities, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.

• Coordinating workflow and resource allocation to meet project deadlines and production schedules.

• Providing guidance and support to production teams, including training new personnel.

• Collaborating with the Quality Control team to ensure products meet or exceed specifications.

• Monitoring equipment and tool condition, coordinating maintenance as needed, and reporting any issues promptly.

• Enforcing safety protocols and promoting a culture of safety within the shop.

• Contributing to the development and implementation of process improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in a supervisory role within a steel fabrication or related industry.

• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively.

• Knowledge of steel fabrication processes and shop operations.

• Familiarity with safety regulations and protocols.

• Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.

• Flexibility to work varying shifts as needed to support production requirements.

Preferences: The following qualifications are desirable but not mandatory:

• Relevant certification or degree in a related field.

• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.

• Experience with production scheduling and resource planning.

• Knowledge of welding, machining, and fabrication techniques.

Salary Range: $55,000-$65,000 annual
