Physician Credentialing Specialist urgently needed in Jackson, CA for an onsite position at a large healthcare organization. This is a 40-hour full time position. It is a long-term temporary role but could turn into a temp to hire, for the right person. Will provide technical administrative support, process and verify credentials of provider applications, track attendance to meetings, etc. Candidates
DUTIES
Coordinate credentialing process of each completed Medical Staff application.
Prepare agenda and meeting materials for Medical Staff Depts and Committees.
Pursue additional information for effective and comprehensive peer review decision-making.
Distribute Medical Staff reappointments and compiles supporting data.
Upon receipt of a completed reappointment, implement processing as set forth.
Enter data reflecting information on all current appointees to Medical Staff
Attend meetings, prepare accurate documentation, serve as a resource for Dept & Committee meetings, and perform all necessary follow up actions.
Maintain thorough, appropriate level of knowledge of IMQ/CMA standards, Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations and MSSD policies and procedures.
Accept and process new applications for Medical Staff membership and initiates the data gathering process.
Provide backup/support for, specified call schedules and subsequent revisions, per specialty policy.
In accordance with current CMA CME standards and established departmental policy, provides backup support for the Continuing Medical Education (CME) program including:
Make arrangements for speakers, facilitates reimbursement, secures meeting room location, audio-visual equipment, catering needs, and maintain budget documents
Maintain calendar of CME events and publishes flyers of upcoming conferences.
Maintain documentation including reimbursements; track attendance, speaker recommendations in committees, and mails/files annual CME reports as appropriate
Provide backup support for preparing the agenda and meeting packet for the CME Subcommittees.
Receptionist duties: Deals with patients, medical staff, employees, and visitors in a friendly and cordial manner,
Maintain strictest confidence under HIPAA for all Protected Health Information (PHI). All PHI is protected from accidental or intentional, inappropriate or Job Level BUSN 3 Description accidental disclosure.
Maintenance and confidentiality of credentials files and medical staff records.
EDUCATION:
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of various medical terminology, procedures, views, and equipment.
Experience in communicating negative information and gaining the cooperation in a professional manner for compliance purposes.
Experience in all aspects of meeting preparation, including meeting minute taking.
Possess written and verbal communications skills.
Interpret data and instructions, in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Time management and organizational skills. Ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines.
Advanced computer applications, MS Word, Excel and Outlook, electronic health records (EHR), EPIC, etc.
Achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
Work independently, and as part of a team, including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions.
Identify, evaluate, and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options.
Knowledge of Joint Commission Medical Staff Standards
Organizational and prioritization skills. Ability to work at several projects simultaneously.
Minimum of two years recent relevant experience.
Pay Range: $55 - $60 p/hr
Must be able to clear a thorough drug screening and criminal background check, provide a minimum of two supervisory references and proper documentation to verify eligibility to work in the USA.
